PSHE

PSHE education (Personal, Social and Health Education) is a school subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepare for life and work in modern Britain.

Our aim with our PSHE curriculum across education and our residential facilities is to empower and equip all students to live their lives to the full. To enable them to live safely, happily and healthily, individually and as part of wider communities.

Unlike many other provisions, we ensure our students receive information and support in all the areas below until the moment they launch out in to the world, and at times beyond! Both School, College and students on our Supported Internship program have access to PSHE lessons designed for their age and stage in life. Most groups receive 2 lessons of focused PSHE each week. Exciting theme days to re-inforce learning are organised every half term.

We follow our own specially designed curriculum, which was created with support from the PSHE Association and in line with current legislations. We do not currently enter our students for qualifications in PSHE, focusing rather on individual personal development and safety.

Topics covered for the academic year 2018-19 will be:

* Health and Wellbeing

* Relationships (including Sex Education)

* Living in the Wider World: economic wellbeing, careers and the world of work (including living safely in an increasingly online world
